For Dr. Barrielevia Evans, Ph.D., the vision behind the Family Bond Transportation Ministry of Sayahword MBC Inc. began in 1989 with a simple but enduring concern: How do families remain connected to incarcerated loved ones when they have no way to reach them? What began as a vision became a commitment he carried for more than three decades—the belief that distance and lack of transportation should not determine whether a mother sees her son, a child sees a parent, or a family has the opportunity to remain connected.

Today, Dr. Evans is working to bring that vision into service through the Family Bond Transportation Ministry. His concern has remained where it began—not with the bus, but with the families who need it. He believes those affected by incarceration deserve to be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect, and that helping a family reach someone they love is itself an act of service. The vision has waited more than three decades for its time. The families have always been worth the wait.
